Mechanical Pencil, 1991. While, like most of my fashion figure drawing, this piece is far from ideal, I like it. It's just that simple. The face and hair, the random squigglies -- I like it. It's just that simple.
Digital color over original drawing, 2000. I needed a fairly wild splashpage for my commercial website, and pulled out the old fashion image. At the time, I was working in a number of ways -- web design, illustration, doll clothing design, costume design, and jewelry design. As such, something a little more generic was necessary. This was the first piece I colorized in Photoshop, and it shows. All of the flaws of the original are still there -- a shoulder that looks like it was attached via `pin the tail on the donkey' techniques, arms all bendy in impossible ways, Nosferatu fingers, and breasts that would get a plastic surgeon sued -- but I still like it.
